Road bikes--also called racing bikes--are designed to go as fast as possible, and this one is no exception. Part of the Cadillac Elite series, the RLE1.8 racing cycle is built from carbon fiber and aluminum to increase acceleration and minimize vibrations in the seat. The European-inspired racing cycle features a lightweight 7005 alloy frame with a Kinesis RF-40 carbon fork, designed to provide excellent aerodynamics, quick handling and a smooth ride. The frame also includes a replaceable derailleur hanger and two water bottle mounts. An 18-speed Shimano gear system, with a double chain ring, operates with precision indexing to help make molehills out of mountains, and dual control levers allow riders to shift and break from the same hand position. The carbon rear seat post helps reduce fatigue and absorb tiring road vibrations, leading to a more comfortable ride.
-18-speed road bike is European-inspired with the latest in aluminum and carbon fiber technology
-Custom 7005 aluminum frame with carbon seat stays
-Kinesis fork is made of carbon fiber to reduce road vibrations
-Derailleurs, shifters and brakes are Shimano 105 for smooth shifting and safe braking
-Dual Pivot brakes provide a firm and instantaneous braking response

Nice soft ride and head turning good looks!
By Mary Jackson "Mary Jackson"
I am VERY happy with my Cadillac RLE 1.8!
I originally bought this bike to compete in my first Olympic Triathlon back in April and since then I have participated in several Cascade Bicycle Club rides and a Sprint Tri two weeks ago. As part of my weekly training, I ride my bike to work 1-2 days a week with longer rides on the weekends.
I took the time to be professionally fitted at a local bike shop before I started riding my bike. The only thing I changed on the bike was the seat where I sprang for a new Butterfly split saddle. This is a normal routine for me when I buy a new bike.
My previous road bike was a steel frame Bianchi Sport SX. On my very first Caddy ride I was amazed to feel how well the carbon fiber seat post and frame components absorb the bumps in the road! I am also able to maintain a faster average speed due to the feather light frame. Shifting is smooth and I've only had to make small adjustments as the cables have stretched over the last few months. I have also learned to love the gear ratios ~ hills were a little challenging at first but as my legs have gotten stronger I'm thrilled to see how quickly I climb even the steepest hills here around Seattle.
I'm still buying accessories for my bike. I have added a rear rack and bag for the days I ride to work. I opted to use my old LOOK pedals & cleats over the Shimano SPD that came with the bike because that was what I am accustom to using. I also invested in a wireless Polar CS300 HR Monitor/Bicycle computer w/ cadence.
On a number of occasions I have been out riding with The Club or on a local bike trail and my Caddy got "double takes" from other riders. First because they didn't know that Cadillac made bicycles and secondly because of the components and frame. Even some riders on $3000+ titanium frame bikes were a little green with envy and even more so when I told them how much I paid for my bike!
The RLE1.8 is a GREAT bike for the money!!
If you want a closer look at my bike, look for me this Saturday on the 100 course of the Flying Wheels ride... I'll be the gal riding the beautiful RED Cadillac!
Decent entry level bike.
I didn't want to spend a fortune to buy a road bike, and this bike, though its name draws some laughs, has pretty decent components for a bike in this price range. It's pretty easy to put the parts together, but I still decide to have a mechanic to check the assembly. The Shimano 105 is not the newest version, but for an entry level road bike it doesn't have to have the best components.
My prolem with this bike is its shipping. There is little foam or other material that prevents the bike from shaking around in the box, and I've noticed one or two visible paint falling and also the wheels are are dented.
Overall, it's a decent bike, but the shipping needs to be improved.
Great Bike
I just got my bike today and it was pretty easy to put together. I still took it to a bike shop so they could check everything and adjust what needed to be adjusted. The other day when I told them I bought a Cadillac bike, they laughed at me. Today, when I brought it in they thought it was a pretty nice bike and a great deal since I got it before Amazon raised the price to what it is now. I think it is a great bike. It is a comfortable ride and went easily up all of the hills I threw at it. This is the first time I have rode/owned a road bike I am very pleased. Shipping with Eagle was a little slow. I paid for the 3-5 day shipping and it came in 7 days. I would just use Amazons free shipping.
Faulty Parts Sent with Bike
By Gary A. Parsons "Gary" (New York)
So I buy this super bike online, right size right style but they send faulty pedals and stems, the road pedals were so poorly manufactured that the screws to attach to the stems had faulty screws and could not be secured.
So instead of being able to ride this thing I have to send part of it back and wait another 10 days while these idiots actually send the correct parts
So I try to contact Amazon to return this part of the product and am referred to the manufacturer Cadillac Cycles and get their run around,
VERY POOR service for customers
