I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm a college student and I use this bike to commute. It's a little heavy, so going up hills is pretty tough. I'm not a bike fanatic either so having a decent, affordable bike that I could get from point A to point B and maybe run around the university town with was crucial. This bike fit that criteria. This is a great ride, but once I get some money I might go for a better performance bike.

Niagara shipped these right away. I think I got them in two days in CA. They are super high quality and even come with the hex wrench to tighten the little bolts - if you use the new ones and not your old screws. The problem for me is that size L is really a size M or even a little smaller. My shoes do not fit in them and they are at least 1/4 inch shorter than the L sized plastic ones they are to replace. I hope hey make an XL MKS sized version. I don't see it on Amazon.

This was my first actual bike after a number of years being on a crappy walmart bike that ended up falling apart while riding it. Anyways, being that this is my first road bike, I'm not going to be a very good judge of everything, but this bike seems to definentally be worth the 0 I have invested in it. It looks great and goes fast for costing as little as it does. People had mentioned making sure to go and get your bike tuned right off the bat which would be a very good idea, but what I ended up doing was just watching a bunch of youtube videos to figure out how to do it myself. After watching those, I was able to tune the bike myself fairly easily and for free since I already had the tools available. I think that watching those videos also helped with installing the front brake caliper since you get to see how it should work on other bikes and other people mentioned having trouble figuring out how to put it on. I have already encountered the problem of getting flats and happened to have both tires go flat on one of my first bike rides. I think it is more attributed to me going over a bump to fast, but noticed when I took the old tubes out that they had been pinched by the tire. I would recommend just making sure that the tube is correctly put into the tire and wheel assembly so you don't have to "flintsone" your bike home. Overall, a great bike for the amount of money that it costs. I am sure that you could get a better bike by spending 0, but for what it's worth, I'm just going to stick with this bike.

GMC Topkick Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike

Good Mountain Bike; Bargain at $ 150
This is a good bike - the best feature is the dual suspension. Light and easy dropping off curbs on the way to work - huge difference from my hardtail mountain bike.

Disc brakes are nice to have, on front and rear - work much better than rim brakes. To adjust them hold the brake lever in and tight them down via a hex wrench on the opposite center of the disc brake until the pads are flush against the disc, then turn back until the brake lever has enough play in it.

The rims are v-shaped, and narrow - much more so than my other bikes. It was quite a job to add to Tuffy liners to the tires. I think I will have a bike shop change the tire next time they need it. The hard part is getting the tire off and on those narrow rims. The people at REI said to squeeze on the sides of the tire as you put it on, so both ends go deep into the rim.

Be careful when you put the front tire on that you have the fork facing forward. (I had it backwards the first time). Make sure the big round points on U part of the fork point towards the front of the bike.

The tires are very knobby. If you ride on the street a lot you might want to change them to something with a smoother Tread in the middle.

The bike weighs 38 pounds put together - not exactly light, but since I ride for pleasure and exercise, and do not plan to race, the weight is fine.

If you get it for less than 150, (what Amazon is selling it for the week of Feb 20), it is quite a bargain. (disc brakes by themselves often add $ 100 to a bike).

I raised the seat pretty high for a comfortable ride at my height, and found the handlebars are two low. I fixed this by adding some handlebar extenders which allow me to be more upright when I am not braking.

To my knowledge you can not raise the stem on the handlebars without adding a spacer. If anyone finds out otherwise, please comment to this post

Another possibility (besides handlebar extensions), would be to replace the handlebar with one that has more of a rise to it.

The Topkick is made by Kent Bicycle Company for GMC. They also make some Cadillac Mountain Bikes - the Cadillac AM2.4 and AM2.7, which are sold on Amazon. They are both dual suspension with disc brakes and have a very similar frame as the Topkick. Both bikes sale for over $ 1000

This is a good product. It is their task is to lift the front wheel of my bike on the way, while I was with my trainer. As previous reviews, the "climbing" aspect of this product only with the stacking of two of each other on a hill. My goal with the block was to the front wheel, so I stuck with only one. I have noticed that the block is sometimes caught or hook on the carpet burbur it sits on, by a few minor adjustments, inter alia, by a smooth mat underneath. I can not say I notice a difference in the various positions on the block, so I just keep it in the same slot each time. I too would like there were numbers or indicators for each slot to indicate position. Overall I like the product.

This purchase is my first disappointment, dealing with a dealer Amazon. Do not waste your money on these items. Why? Because:

a. This item has small pieces that are easy to lose
b. Assembly required
c. Assembly instructions are sparse and written by someone for whom English is a third language

Article, the installation instructions should be provided by someone who understands English when in an English speaking country.

Good Looking rack may not fit your bike

The rack looks good and is robust, but even though Amazon says: "This rack fits almost any bike and is one of the racks are best for the price, 815g with hardware" - this is not true.
We tried it on a vibration bike - hardly an unknown brand - and the rack with the necessary parts.
To your back with this rack, you must have 2 predrilled holes and threaded at the upper end of the rear fork, or you must go and find somewhere adapter bracket, they do not deliver.
So Amazon's writeup on this rack is very misleading, and its so bad the producers did not think about the adapter brackets so that they really fit often bicycles.

Very little comfort

I have this seat cover for my spinning class after that was with me by my teacher. The one I received was great and provided a lot of comfort and (unfortunately, I do not know the brand that they are included). I have this cover that night come home and hope for similar results. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. It provides very little cushion or comfort. I would recommend purchasing a seat for the other is what I have to do now.

This seat is wide and soft for an ex-athele that is reduced to bicycle riding for execise. I painted the chrome springs black as they were a bit too obvious for me. I like this one better tham the earlier type Cloud 9 on my bicycle that was recently stolen from the top of my SAAB.

(I was a little worried after reading the review of the guy who said he felt like he was riding a tricycle like a clown...) Let me tell you, it was the best investment! It is comfortable, and very easy to ride on! I used my old seat, and my butt was killing me...this one was great. Comfortable, yet sturdy! I hope all of you reading invest in it...it is definitely worth it. Just a note of advice, it comes with a c clamp, but the bicycle shop was able to change the seats for me and we never had to use the clamp. ENJOY IT!!

Definitely very cushioned and more than comfortable. It fits easily yet snugly on the Schwinn stationary bikes used for Cycle class at my fitness center. I've had other seat covers that were difficult to stretch over and around the entire seat. I did once forgot to tie the cord off, behind the cord locking mechanism and cord did loosen and seat popped off during class. However, with proper tying performance is everything it should be.

These tire levers are thicker than usual, making them very easy to use and helpful for both taking the tires of my mountain bike putting them back on. My only complaint is that you only get 2 of them (generally tire levers come in 3's), but this isn't a big deal and they still work fine.

Customer Review: Work better than thinner ones

I first changed my tube last week with some other levers from my local bike store, one of them broke and I finally replaced the tube after about 30 minutes (with the help of my girlfriend) and after many blisters, we got it done. I should also say, i have those tires made with kevlar, so they get tough to put around the rim towards the last part. I tried these yesterday with another flat I got, and it only took me about 8 minutes, tops, and it was much easier than last time. These work really good.

Customer Review: Easy to use, nice long cable

I've been using this lock steadily now for a couple of months, and I have nothing but praise for it. First, the lock itself is easy to set and use. The number dials move smoothly, and the numbers are large and clear and easy to read. Second, the cable is relatively long compared to most bike locks I see and allows you to wrap it easily around thicker poles/trees, or lock several bicycles together. Third, the velcro straps make it very easy to attach the lock to your bike to store while riding. (After trial and error, I discovered it worked best on my bicycle to strap it to the handlebars.)

Would this lock stop a determined thief with heavy-duty bolt-cutters? Probably not, but little would. For the price, I think this lock is an exceptional value and highly satisfying.

Customer Review: Junk. Almost ruined my vacation.

This thing is a nice looking piece of junk. I set my combo and used it to lock 2 bikes to the bike rack on my car when I went on vacation. At our first stop, it worked just fine. But when we reached our final destination, the lock was somehow "stuck" and would not come open.

We tried everything - we moved each digit of the combo up one and down one, we wiggled, we jiggled, we spun the tumblers and retried again and again, but it would not open. Something internally had gone wrong with the lock during the journey, and our bikes were now "trapped" on the car. As I did all of this, and the sun began to set, I was filled with a growing sense of dread that my vacation was gonna be ruined by some cheap crummy bike lock.

After full desperation set in, I ended up cutting through the cable with a pair of snipers I borrowed off a stranger. Once I finally resolved to take this "drastic step," however, it was surprisingly easy. Of course, this makes me wonder how much I was really protected by this thing in the first place.

In the end, this $13 piece of crap almost ended up ruining my vacation - and the only thing that saved me was the fact that it's not very good protection from theft in the first place. Bah.

Very good product. Came in two 2 oz. bottles, not one 4-ounce bottle, but that's fine. The oil itself is high quality, thin, but not watery. After oiling the chain link by link, there was practically no wipe-up - the oil was absorbed quickly and completely into the rivets. With a weekly oiling, I expect the 4 ounces to last the better part of a year or more. Good value.

I really like the flexibility of the cable used in combination with the u-lock. I'm a bit disappointed with the length of the u-lock. It required me lock the bike close to the rail or bar. But that is a minor detail that can be overlooked because there are usually enough spots in bicycle-accessible areas to lock up bikes. Overall, I would highly recommend this product.

Customer Review: Good lock, small size can be a problem

I purchased this OnGuard Pitbull MINI DT 5008 lock after extensive research on the best locks and locking techniques available. I decided to use the Sheldon Brown method, which requires you to lock your back wheel to a rack or parking meter, making sure you pass through the rear triangle of the frame. A mini u-lock is recommended as it is harder for thieves to work with. However, the lock is so small that, depending where I can find to lock up, I can't get it to close using the Sheldon Brown technique and have to lock up somewhat more insecurely. The cable, while not capable of doing battle with a bolt cutter, is great for locking down my seat post - especially comforting given the rash of bike seat thefts in my area. The 5 included keys are handy so I can leave one at work, home, carry one, etc. Overall, a good value and exactly as described. I just wish I had bought a slightly larger lock given the dimensions of my bike/wheel and what I have to lock to.

Several aspects of the Bulldog MINI U-Lock make it a very good choice for the commuter in areas where moderate security is adequate. First, the lock is compact, easy to transport in most types of bike-mounted bags or packs, or on the frame mount (not used by this reviewer). The compact size is just right for a single point connection of a frame component to a heavy duty 'U' rack or a parking meter. It won't fit around the trunks of even small street trees - this is not usually a problem, since street signs and other urban elements offer plenty of casual anchorage points in most areas when bike racks are missing or full. Second, the lock is light-weight by U-lock standards, so it won't feel like a ship's anchor in your bike bag or on the mount. Third, the plastic finish coat and end caps are easy on your bike. And fourth, the five keys including a lighted key that are provided with the lock offer more lost or spare key convenience than is probably warranted.

In all, a solid, economical choice.

Customer Review: Great value, nice featured light set.

This set uses normal AA and AAA batteries, unlike other sets out there.
Beamer 1 (front): Easy to mount to handlebars with included mount. Also easy to remove as a flashlight. Uses two included AA batteries.
Blinky 3 (rear): Excellent rear light with 3 LEDs. Uses two included AAA batteries. With included mounts, it attaches to the seat post or to a thin rear frame. Unlike the front light, the rear acts as a reflector when turned off. When you want to remove it for security, it's just a click and a slide, and it turns into a clip light, similar to a belt clip.
For some reason, one click on the front light sets it to blink, and two clicks is a steady light. It's the opposite for the rear light. Oops!

Customer Review: Sturdy contruction but not very bright

I thought this light would suffice for my short ride home from work every night but its has a much more limited scope than I was expecting. If I could do it again, I would have splurged for a bigger light. Works great and has sturdy construction but is definitely the minimum you need for night riding.
